Keynote- In conversation with Jay Snowden, Penn CEO, at SBC Digital Summit

What will happen when major sports come back?
Snowden said that the company plans to launch in the state first, and that state is Pennsylvania. Then, they will continue to launch in New Jersey, Indiana and other US states. "Major sports have been in a hiatus but so many people which have not been able to bet on the sports they love since March will have the chance to do it again. It's really important for us to return to sportsbetting," he affirmed.

Impact of COVID 19
Considering that online gaming revenue has doubled during this time, he affirmed: "I believe we want to have the best of both worlds."

With regard to US online gaming legalization, he assured: "I think states will be looking for this opportunity and legalize and tax online casinos, on top of their brick-and-mortar casinos."

New APP
Snowden commented about the relaunch of its social casino app Hollywood Casino free-to-play app, as mychoice casino, with a new UI and back-end technology platform. The rebrand is part of the operator’s efforts to bridge the gap between its land-based and online players.

He talked about its key features: content integration and the possibility to use it in diferent jurisdictions. "It is important that you don't have to download two different apps for two different states," he added.

Strategy after pandemic
CEO Jay Snowden said that during the mandated closures of Penn’s properties, the firm’s team has undertaken a comprehensive reevaluation of its corporate and property operating structures to improve efficiencies. He added that the company is exploring new technologies and innovations that could help reimagine its casinos and enhance the guest experience. "We have 37 of our 41 casinos up and running now; we have done it in a responsible way, and we will continue to do that. Keeping that properties open is very important to us."

Penn will span online sports, online casino, social gaming, brick-and-mortar with only one account. "We will continue taking care of our customers and we will have products both retail and digital to meet customers needs," he concluded.
